Using the CPS ASEC and SPM research files, we determine that the Brown-Bennet child allowance proposal would reduce the number of children in poverty from 12 million to 6.7 million, or 44%. We also determine that the proposal would pull 4 million adults out of poverty and show how it would impact the income levels of all children
