Matt Bruenig responds to Max Sawicky's piece in Jacobin about the job guarantee. Sawicky's idea to create new permanent public enterprises that hire workers of all skill levels at appropriate wages to do complex tasks is a fine one, though very much different from what people usually mean by "job guarantee." Bruenig argues that perhaps "job guarantee" really is just a new and better rebrand of "full employment" and that everyone should just advocate all of their employment-promotion policies under that heading going forward.
