The NYT highlights a study showing that Medicare for All would cut hospital revenue by 16 percent. However the story omits the fact that hospitals should be able to cut administrative costs by around 13 percent, offsetting nearly the entirety of the revenue decline. Other savings on drugs, medical equipment, and lower profit margins could easily close the remaining 3 percent revenue decline, all without reducing the salaries of care providers like nurses and doctors.
