In our second featured paper, author Nathaniel Lewis uses a novel dataset to determine how likely it is that a young man will wind up incarcerated broken down by class and race. He finds that class is by far the strongest predictor of whether a young man will face incarceration and that class differences between racial groups explain the vast majority of the racial disparity in incarceration.
