In our very first post with animations (!), we show how you can use an employer-side payroll tax to capture the premiums already paid by employers into the private insurance system and thereby avoid the potential problem of employers pocketing those premiums as an unjust windfall. This solution is present in most single payer proposals and would fund a large chunk of a single payer system.
