The Swedish Social Democratic Party gradually grew public ownership from 14 percent of national wealth in 1950 to over 44 percent of national wealth in 1975. This was driven entirely by a run up in state assets, not by a pay down of public debt. This provides a view into what a social wealth fund might do for the US.
